Septic Tank Pumping Services Charleston, SC

Knight’s Septic Tank Inc. was established in 1969 by Bud Knight. He only had one pump truck to service septic tanks in the Summerville tri-county area, but his vision and business grew quickly. He started in the pumping service, then expanded his company to include installing and eventually manufacturing his own septic tanks.

Producing the concrete and precasting the tanks eventually led to the Knight’s Redi-Mix division and the Knight’s Precast division. His commitment to providing the best service to his clients fueled the expansion of his company and continues to keep it a successful business.

Our team of licensed septic tank engineers and technicians bring over 30 years of combined experience to every job.

Schedule Regular Service to Avoid Costly Issues

Just because you aren’t having problems with your septic tank doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have it serviced. Tanks should be pumped out every 3 to 5 years, or if you have a garbage disposal, even more regularly to avoid having solid waste leak into the discharge system, resulting in untreated wastewater in your yard or sewage backup in your home.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How often should a septic tank be pumped?

Most residential septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, depending on household size, water usage, and whether you use a garbage disposal. Regular pumping helps prevent backups, system damage, and costly repairs.

What septic services does Knight’s Companies provide?

Knight’s Companies offers a full range of septic services, including septic tank pumping, inspections, repairs, maintenance, drain-line installation, grease trap pumping, engineered septic systems, lift station pumping, and residential and commercial septic system installations.

What are the signs that my septic system needs service?

Common signs include slow drains, sewage odors, standing water near the drain field, sewage backups, and unusually green patches of grass around the septic system. Scheduling service as soon as you notice these issues can help prevent more serious problems.

Does Knight’s Companies serve both residential and commercial customers?

Yes. Knight’s Companies provides septic services for homeowners, businesses, and commercial properties throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry, including pumping, inspections, installations, repairs, and ongoing maintenance.

Why is regular septic system maintenance important?

Routine maintenance helps extend the life of your septic system, improves performance, prevents unexpected failures, and reduces the risk of wastewater backups or drain field damage. Regular service can also save money by avoiding major repairs.
