In 1969, Bud Knight established Knight’s Septic Tank Inc. with just one pumping truck. Over the years, he expanded the business into related areas and created Knight’s Redi-Mix, Knight’s Precast, Knight’s Trucking, and Knight’s Pumping within Knight’s Companies. Knight’s has been family owned and operated since its beginning and welcomes all of its customers into the Knight’s family with every new project.

2022 - Knight's Companies Acquires Tekna Corporation and Sovereign Steel
Knight’s Companies announces the acquisition of Tekna Corporation, a prestressed and precast concrete manufacturer, and Sovereign Steel, a rebar and steel reinforcements fabricator. Through this acquisition, we can provide additional product lines to our South Carolina customers and participate more in upcoming infrastructure projects.
2021 – KRM South Acquires Lowcountry Concrete
In July, KRM South acquires Lowcountry Concrete and expands its service area to Beaufort and Jasper County.
2021 – KRM South Opens its Savannah Plant
In March, KRM South opens its second plant in the heart of downtown Savannah at 2900 Louisville Road. With eleven plants and growing, Knight’s Redi-Mix plans to add more locations throughout the year.
2020 – KRM South Starts Supplying the Savannah Market
After five years of Knight’s Precast serving Richmond Hill, Knight’s Redi-Mix opens a division in the Savannah Market. With a small but passionate team, KRM South begins supplying third-party sales from its Richmond Hill Plant.
2020 – Knight’s Redi-Mix Opens Lexington Plant
In June, KRM Midlands begins full operations at its Lexington Plant. This plant replaces the Winnsboro Plant that Knight’s acquired through the purchase of Winnsboro Concrete.
2020 – KRM South Starts Supplying the Savannah Market
After five years of Knight’s Precast serving Richmond Hill, Knight’s Redi-Mix opens a division in the Savannah Market. With a small but passionate team, KRM South begins supplying third-party sales from its Richmond Hill Plant.
2020 – Knight’s Redi-Mix Opens Lexington Plant

2019 – Knight’s Pumping Founded
After 24 years in the ready-mix concrete business, Knight’s starts offering concrete pumping services through Knight’s Pumping. With three pump trucks, they serve customers in the Lowcountry and Midlands.
2017 – Lugoff Location Opened
Knight’s adds its fourth location in the Midlands in Lugoff, SC
2017 – Knight’s Acquires Winnsboro Concrete
Knight’s Redi-Mix expands service capacity with Winnsboro, SC location.
2016 – Knight’s Acquires Palmetto Builders Concrete
Knight’s Redi-Mix expands its service area to the Midlands by acquiring Palmetto Builders Concrete in Blythewood and Irmo, SC.
2015 – Knight’s Acquires Parker Precast
Knight’s expands its precast business to the Georgia lowcountry by acquiring Parker Precast in Richmond Hill, GA.
2004 - 2007 – Knight’s Location Grows to Meet Demand
Major development of Hodge Road campus begins which hosts the current Knight’s Companies headquarters locations of Septic, Redi-Mix, Precast, and Trucking, as well as a Redi-Mix operation, six buildings for fabrication and fleet maintenance facility.
1997 – Knight’s Precast Founded
After years of success precasting septic tanks, Knight’s expands its offering and establishes its preacast business.
1995 – Knight's Redi-Mix Founded
First batch plant opened on Central Ave in Summerville. Soon after three more locations were added; Walterboro in 2000, North Charleston in 2002, and Moncks Corner in 2008.
1990 – Knight’s Begins Precasting Septic Tanks
1972 – Septic Business Expands to Installation
Mr. Knight buys a backhoe to expand into the installation business.
