SAVANNAH, Georgia – Knight’s Redi-Mix is expanding into the Savannah Market with a new Georgia division, KRM South. With two new dry batch plants, 13 mixer drivers and a core group of customers built through connections in the Midlands and Lowcountry, KRM South is ready to set a new standard in the market.
“When we started Knight’s Precast there five years ago, we had all intention of putting a ready-mix plant on site to supply our own needs and to go third-party sales within the next couple of years,” Pete Knight, CEO, says. “But after we did the acquisition and started to do the market analysis, we decided to sit tight and build our precast team.”
Through Knight’s Precast, Knight’s Companies has already established a name for itself in the area and pre-existing customers know the quality and customer service they can expect.
“We have excellent customer confidence there that we believe will parlay over into the ready-mix side because we have a team of individuals that perform at a really high level in Knight’s Precast- Georgia,” Pete Knight says. “Plus, through those established relationships, we know who we want to do business with in the market.”
With the unpredictability of 2020 in the rear-view mirror, KRM South is ready to create a new perception of what ready-mix can be in the Savannah Market.
Born Anderson, a KRM South Plant Manager, says he’s made it clear what he wants from his team of drivers: to show the competition that Knight’s knows concrete better than most quality control technicians on a job site.
Anderson is also looking forward to creating and cultivating the environment KRM South will thrive in for years to come. Pete Knight feels the same way.
“There are no excuses for why we can’t do it and do it right because there are no bad habits right now, right? I believe right out the gate we can set the bar, and set it high, and offer something new to an employee or a customer,” Knight says. “We’ve got the opportunity to build something like no other.”
