Knight’s Companies of Summerville, South Carolina, now offers concrete pumping services in the Lowcountry and Midlands with its new pumping division.
Gregory Bates joined Knight’s Companies to head the new division in April, 2019. As the operations manager, Mr. Bates oversees drivers, ensures trucks are properly maintained, and coordinates with contractors at the project site to keep everything running smoothly.
Gregory Bates started in construction working in ditches. “Construction has allowed me to provide a better life for my family as I have worked my way up,” he says. “I started hearing about Knight’s when I moved to Charleston five years ago, so when they announced the launch of their new pumping division, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. They provide a quality product and have a strong understanding of family and business.”
Pumping trucks and equipment move concrete from the truck to the far reaches of a job site using pipes and hoses. Concrete can also be pumped up several stories and over or around large obstructions. With the addition of this new division, Knight’s can place their ready-mix concrete anywhere their clients need it without involving a third party pumping company.
