Knight’s Companies Bringing More Jobs to Columbia, SC
Certificate of new occupancy received for third concrete plant
Summerville, SC (February 13, 2019) – Earlier this month, Knight’s Companies was awarded a certificate of new occupancy for their third concrete plant at 1320 Pineview Rd. in Columbia. Construction of the plant started in May 2018 and was completed in January.
The plant will provide ready-mix concrete to customers in Columbia, Cayce and Gaston, as well as the materials used in their precast stock yard.
With this growth, Knight’s is adding 20 plant managers, mixer drivers, loader operators, tractor-trailer drivers, and tri-axle drivers, and the company plans to add 15 more jobs when a second phase is complete.
According to Pete Knight, President of Knight’s Companies: “This location will allow us to better serve our Midlands customers in both ready-mix and precast. We look forward to continuing to grow at this location with Phase 2, which will include a maintenance facility and market headquarters. Knight’s prides itself on quality concrete and service.”
