Wheelbarrow: Conversely, traditional equipment can also be incredibly beneficial when your concrete project isn’t that big or is tucked into a tight area. You can pour small amounts of concrete into a wheelbarrow and transport to the proper location with ease.
Compactors: When you are getting the base of your concrete site ready, having compactors will be incredibly helpful. Compactors do pretty much exactly what the name implies, they are used to flatten the surface of the dirt where the concrete will be placed while making the dirt as dense as possible.
Concrete Rakes: After your concrete is placed in the intended site, you will need to immediately begin raking through to guide the concrete to its final position. While concrete is liquid at first, you want your concrete to be in place as soon as possible so it is where it needs to be when it starts to set.
Trowels: When the concrete is where you want it to be, you will need to smooth out the surface to make it completely flat. Trowels are kind of like a large dust mop, but have a flat metal sheet on the end that you use to run along the surface of the concrete to make it as flat and smooth as possible.
Groove Cutter: One way to prevent cracking where you don’t want it to occur in your concrete is by making joints, which are intentionally placed grooves that guide any cracking into the places you want. To make these grooves, you will need a groove cutter.
Rubber Boots: In addition to your typical construction attire, such as goggles, gloves, and hardhats, you want to wear rubber boots when working with concrete. In the event any unset concrete gets on your boots, you will be able to quickly rinse it off and continue working.
Levels: Everything about your concrete placement should be level, from the base to the surface of the concrete. To ensure each surface is level, you will need to have plenty of levels on hand throughout the whole process. Traditional levels are fine, but laser levels will be the most convenient and accurate.
